THE SILVER FLUTE TRILOGY
The City is a dark and dangerous place but amongst the desperation and despair there is a ray of hope, weak and insubstantial, but with the potential to light up the world.
Jeremiah Tully has a single joy in his life – the silver flute his mother left him. Mute from birth, the flute is his voice; but the mystery of why his mother abandoned him is left unanswered. Isolated because of his disability, and his mixed-race heritage, he struggles to find meaning for his existence.
The gates to the Midnight Land are opening again and something must be done, before evil spills out and swamps the universe in everlasting darkness! Failure has followed Jeremiah Tully all his life. It dogs his every footstep, throwing misery and desolation in his path, no matter how hard he tries to evade it. His inability to close the gates to the Midnight Land is compounded by the discovery that his half-brother is not only a killer but also an emotional cripple and his mother is a cold, heartless woman, with no time for a son she abandoned long ago.
The final leg of the journey has arrived and Jeremiah faces up to the horrible, inevitable reality that is The Land of Midnight Days. The gates are opening and The Flute Player must step through them, into a mire of darkness and evil. He still has the enchanted silver flute but is unable to play it. He has lost everything: his mother, his brother, and most of all, his music; leaving him bereft and voiceless.
Zebediah Tully is a man born out of conflict. He has spent most of his life fighting against his own nature, and all the torment and angst it brings him. He is lost and without purpose until he meets Joe Ambrose, a man who will change his life forever. Joe is a member of a resistance group, set up to fight the demon invaders who hold sway over the city. He teaches Zeb to think for himself and not blindly follow the herd. Inspired by his friend, he becomes a warrior in the war against the demonic intruders and takes up arms against them. Little does he realise that he is preparing the way for the saviour who will one day bring about their enemies’ nemesis.
