My name is Katrina Jack or Kate for short. I was born in Liverpool, a great city, from which I derive a great deal of my writing inspiration.

 

I write YA urban fantasy books and short stories compilations, also in the fantasy genre. My family are great readers of all kinds of genres. Their influence also made me an avid devourer of books, which finally evolved into a desire to write my own.

 

I began writing at age fourteen, mostly articles for women’s magazines, then I joined a writing group and moved on to short stories, and finally novels.

 

My chosen genre is, of course, speculative fiction, and some of my favourite authors are Jim Butcher, Terry Prachett and Robin Hobb, along with many more fantastic authors.
